Viper alarm question
I just purchased a Camaro with a Viper alarm. I went to unhook the negative battery cable to clear a code and the alarm goes off and I smack my head on the hood at 11 at night. Is this part of the security? How can I work around it? The alarm was not set when I was working.
Also the car won't start sometimes. I have to turn key a bunch of times then it goes. Rolling the car a little helps. The guy I got it from though the starter needed to be shimmed. What other things should I look for?

Sounds like you have either a misaligned starter or bad flywheel but it looks like you have an auto so rolling the car shouldn't help the situation out since the trans is not directly connected to the engine like it is in a manual. That is weird.
