2000 Camaro Vats problem?

I went out to start my car and it will not crank. All the instrument panel lights are working, but my security light is flashing. I have checked the starter, solenoid, neutral safety switch, starter relay and fuses. Went to the dealer and had a new key made. Still cannot get car to turn over. I was told maybe it way a VATS problem. Is there anyway to bypass this without having to replace the ignition cylinder? Also I was told that there are problems sometimes with the wires from the ignition breaking. Any suggestions?
Thanks Bear

gee you guys are nice..
thats usually an issue on the c5's but could very posibly be the reason for it not starting. jus go in there and check the wires.
PS -check out ls1tech, much more helpful than here. hope it helps

You can use the same resistor bypass as the thirdgen cars. Mike
