tune port problems

tune port problems
I just switched my car back to tune port and I have Some trouble.... it works and everything but what happens when i go to start the car it will shoot right up to 3 grand then it would idle back to 1100...... that was at first now it will idle up to about 2 grand and then just slowly idle itz way down and shut off.... Im stuck we are thinking maby the map sensor or the vacume hoses are not hooked up right... any help will be thankful

You need to check thru everything, wires, connectors, especially vacuum leaks. Are you thowing an error code?
Another thing is to complete the TPS setting, static timing and minimum idle air adjustment.
You switched back to tuned port from WHAT?

The person I bot the car from couldnt get it running becase he lost the key so he switched the steering colum and put a 700 holly double pumper and a streetmaster dome onto the 305 that is in the car.....I send my computer chip away and got it programed to bypass the vatts system....the car was working good for a couple hours then it messed up on me...maby we got the vacum hoses hooked up rong does anyone have a diagram of where they should go and another stupid question how to you check for error codes??

Well, first of all, do you have the "check engine" light on?
Second, you check for error codes by using a paper clip and inserting the two ends into ALDL ports A & B (I think). Do a search on this matter, also, there may be a tech article on this. Check it out.
There is no way of telling what this dumby did to his car, unless you can talk to him yourself.
I have an '87 TPI MAF car, so I will be of limited help.

I'll do the codes this evening when I get home This evening. i did a search and found how to check for them thanks...I will post up the codes tonight.
