Cobra vs. Escort

I searched on the boards but everything is from a few years ago, and as you know these get outdated overtime. I am wondering on what model is better, the escort 8500 x50 or the Cobra 9930. Any advice on either of the brands would be great. I'm not expert so shoot away.

I don't know that you can go wrong here. my best friend has an escort, and when I ride with him, I've seen him pick up coppers from quite a ways away... plenty of tim to slow from 90 to 55 before we pass within range.

Neither. Save up the extra cash and get a Valentine One. No other radar detector can tell you the number of signals detected AND the directions they are coming from.

For a time I could hardly tell the Escort GT from the Mustang GT (the late '80s and early '90s cars) ...actually, the Escort GT was a little better looking.

Sorry Casey, I think he was talking about radar detectors. I think everybody thought the title was referring to ford vehicles. Made me curious enough to find out why it was here.

The only thing V1 has going for it are the following: 2 Antennas, Arrows, Laser.

The Escort X50 has really good radar detector, best being Ka. X50 also has less falses then the V1, which has been known to false ALOT.

IMO, the V1 isn’t worth the extra $100, and the Cobra is garbage. Cobra has no range at all.

The top 3 brands in Radar detectors are as following in no particular order: Escort, Valentine, Bel. Either one of these three are good radar detectors, any of them are excellent at what they do.

After about a half a year of research, and 2 tickets (damnit), I finally went with the Escort X50 Red.
