Steering column swap with VATS and Cruise problem

I swap my really screwed up column (VATS Airbags) for a 1989 Firebird column. I purchased it off ebay and it is a VATS column with matching key and module. I have installed it with no problems except I cannot find the module to switch them out. Can anyone please tell me how to access the module? Pictures would be great if needed. Also the Cruise control on my original column was wired on the wiper/light switch plug and it was 4 wires. Now on the new column it is wired seperately with 2 wires. Is there anyway to make this work should I leave it out all together? Also the steering wheel would not go back on (Airbag wheel had different teeth). Does this sound right and if so what wheel do you recommend?
