My ignition coils keep burning out

I have a 1988 Coamaro with a 2.8 V-6. My problem is I keep replacing my ignition coil. I've replaced my spark plugs, rotor, distributor cap and module in the distributor. Can anybody help.

Make sure the coil has a good ground (you can run a temporary ground to chassis). Not sure if you are buying Auto Zone type coils, but you may need to purchase an OEM coil & see if it survives.

Make sure your grounds are good. Check the engine grounding straps to make sure your block is grounded well.

It is a braided cable that runs from the middle of the firewall to the intake manifold, towards the rear. there is no insulation on it, it is bare metal.
