TPI to carb swap.. wiring issue
Ok so I've read through threads pertaining to the this subject but I'm seeing that a lot of people have been able to remove the ECU wiring harness without touching the stuff coming from under driver side dash (gauges/ignition/starter stuff). I don't know, but does this only work for certain year thirdgens? I have a 90, a speed density setup. I'm in the process of removing the wiring but noticed that the starter wiring (3 red wires, 1 purple) do not come directly from the under dash wiring. I noticed that 2 of the 3 red wires(2 wires that come together for 1 connection that goes to the positive post on starter) go to some connector which in turn comes from the ECU harness. Then theres a lone red wire, which goes to a small connector that goes to ECU harness.
By removing the harness, would require removing those. So what would I do in that kinda situation? Any help/input would be appreciated.

Hey
I just recently turned a trans am from TPI to carb. The thing i did was get rid of your main harness thats on the passanger side that hooks to your computer. Then the harness on the drivers side that plugs into the firewall (which is next to your headlight harness), take it out and get a older harness like from a 86 or older iroc or z28 or maybe berlinetta? ....tpi or carb...dont matter i dont think. It will have your starter wires, alternator wires, and temp guage wires. i may have one sittin around...have to check.
