whats this wire!

so i was bored poped the hood and was cleaning up a lil bit and i noticed a wire was burnt up i tryed finding where it led but it ran into more wires then back behind teh engine i think i couldnt really tell. the pictures should kinds tell you what i mean. anyways the car doesnt seem to run bad or anything im just wondering what it is it has a fuseable link ( i think thats what the black thing is) the wire attachs to the battery for something i just dont know what

this is where it lead up too a bounch of other wires i tryed circleing it with a red circle its kinda hard to see.

are you sure it douse not have a tube fuse in it if so could be from old owner for some thing like a mood lights or aftermarket fog lights.

no it never had lights i bought the car off my brother before he moved ill ask him but theres a 3 hour differnce and he usally around this time so ill probally have to wait till the weekend

kind of hard to tell what i'm looking at in those pics. if you're talking about this red wire, I asked the same question and i got the response: everyones car has it and no one knows what it's for.

Axle/Gears: Moser 12-bolt w/3.73 & Stock
I think it is the fuel pump prime/test wire. If it is, it will be hot (+) when you put your key to run position. If that works you can double check by jumping a hot wire to it with the key off and listen for your fuel pump to come on.

that looks to be where the battery sits? if so mine has a junction box right there with a + lead comming from the battery, and that wire i assume goes to it? still tracing mine down to see where it goes.

yeah its what ken is talking about and the wire that ynk1121 i saw too but i guess i dont have to worrie about that

ynk1121 that looks like the wire that goes to the knock senser (in the block) under the header
