My ac blower motor relay was located on the side of the AC box under the hood, near the large uper line that has the dryer bottle on it.

is there a way to see if it shorted out or if a fuse triped or something? my amp shorted out, (ground came undone, touched positive and started to smoke, and now my fan is the ONLY thing not working.
Just replaced the heater switch assemb last night.Turns out prev owner shorted sumthin and it was stuck in low blow function.Bought the whole assem at pull-a-part for under 20.00 and went to work. All it was was the hook up for the on-off-heat-ac connector was burnt so i wired in the new connector and used the new face plate (looked nicer then mine)and now i have lo-high function to fan and it doesn turn off at every bump like it sumtimes did.Now just have to find/fix the vaccum leak for heater/vent/defrost function.

have ya tried runnin a test strip (spkr wire will do) from batt to fan and see if fans blown?Of corse check fuses in fuse box. Then i would pull heater controll assemb out enuff to check the connectors on the back for melted contacts.if ya end up tryin ta hot wire the blower motor please use a relay to handel the load not just a switch.I have seen too many 1/2 butted jobs done with switchs trying to handel the load and end up melting thew switch and burnin up under the dash.be careful.

there are no fuses blown in the fuse panel under the dash are there any others?

Sorry had other things come up and forgot ta check back on this thred.Hot wirein the blower motor for the heater assemb is simple realy.Just make sure if possiable to use a relay since most switchs themselves can't hold up to decent current flow for long periods of time.I can never stress the safe use of correct gage wire and relays over switchs for "hot wire" mods.
Here try these links that were passed on to me and i gained access to thru this forum.(the gang here have been a great help.)

The first is a list of wire diagrams by year.Should give ya the wires yer lookin for.Ya micht be able to tap into the harness in the cab of the car and slip in a switch where the factory switch would access the wire harness.Alot of the rotary switchs in gm's go bad over time but the harness works fine. It's just a matter of chosein the wires for high output for the fan switch and volts into the switch and usein a wire tap connector to tap those wires and then add switch. What yer then doin is making the connection with an aux switch, where the original switch made the connection (and may not be doin so now ).
To test the fan motor check the second link it shows ya where it is and what it looks like as well as what the wire connector looks like.how ta remove the motor assemb.and install same.If i'm not mistakes and i could be the case of the blower motor provides the ground and the single wire to the assemb is the hot wire.So one would run a spkr wire(for test only!)from batt + to the wire hook up on motor and spkr wire to a bolt on motor case from batt - .This should make motor spin and tell ya if it's good or bad.I DO NOT recomend runnin wires into the cab from batt to fan motor via switch to run fan.Potential for shorting wires also meltin switch and or causein damage to vehicle elec system.Have seen too many of those "hot wire "solutions end up in melted wire harness.
The third link is to a page someone sent me (lost track of whom sorry.)that has a bunch of wire diagrams on it.The heater blower assemb is there. If yer unsure then ask a buddy that has experiance with diagrams. Also diagrams are kinda easy ta read. They are kinda like maps or connect the dots.
Good luck...Bill
P.S. again be careful wires and switchs DO heat up and melt if too much current passes thru em than they are rated for.
