Curise control switch disassembly?
Hi,
I have diagnosed my intermitent cruise control switch problem(89 formula 350 tpi) to being loose connections within the head of the multi-function switch itself. If I pull and twist the wires exiting the multi-function switch before entering the steering column, applying force only to the wires coming from the switch--cruise control works.
I pulled the multi-function switch, but cannot disassemble further. I would like to try. I suspect that I just need to re-solder or recrimp the final connections inside the body of the switch.
Does anyone know how to take one apart without destrying the switch?
best regards,
-Brent

I dont know for certain, but i think that it cant be disassembled at the point your
describing. My wires were severed where they exit the head of switch and i could'nt see any way of getting into it,so i replaced it.Someone in the US makes a aftermarket one (not GM ),that is a lot cheaper than the GM one,and is identical. Not sure who it is,but a search might help.
