Module keeps blowing

What would cause the module to go bad? I have replaced it 2 times and it keeps burning out. I put the thermal grease on the back like im suppose to. Please help.

i take it your talking about the ignition module.
is the grease your using what comes with the module?
what brand of module are you buying?
did you replace the ignition coil when you replaced the module? if so, what brand of coil?

Im sorry yes its the ignition module.

yes I use the grease that the module comes with.

Its a napa part.

I didnt replace the coil but if i do it will be a napa part.

Im just trying to find out what would cause a module to blow. The coil or could something else blow it?

replace your coil, its probably bad. also make sure the cap, rotor, plugs & wires are in good condition. a bad plug, cap, rotor or wire will kill the coil, a bad coil will kill the module.
when ever i replace the module, i always replace the ignition coil. without replacing the coil i will not warranty the module.
unless your looking for every bit of power from your motor, i highly recommend using A/C Delco ignition parts.
i have replaced tons of modules & coils and have very seldom ever had any problems when using A/C Delco parts, when using aftermarket stuff, it seems like about every fifth module i have used had problems of some kind. add to that the aftermarket parts just don't last like OEM parts do.
