Hi all,I've just replaced my cap,coil,rotor and leads,and motor will turn over but it wont start.I noticed that with the coil cover off,there is spark at each post on the cap but number 5 is intermittent and number 8 had no spark.I changed back to the old cap and rotor and i had spark at all posts.The only thing different with
the new setup is, i used a low resistance rotor bushing between the rotor and the coil.Could it be the ICM or the pickup coil in the distrbutor?.I would've thought that if it was either of those that was the problem i would'nt have any spark at all.I have fuel,timing is right it just wont fire.Any ideas?.

maybe ICM, you need to make sure you have proper fuel persure

 

Well its going,dont ask me why as i dont really have an answer.I first tried starting it with the old components and it coughed and spluttered and carried on,then fired up.Seemed to rev alright,smooth idle and everything,so i changed
everything back to the new parts,thinking that it probaly would'nt go,but it did.
Almost seemed like it was flooded with fuel.Have'nt had it on the road yet but hopefully it will be ok.The worst thing about not knowing the cause is,will it happen again.
