cranks, but won't start

OK here we go. I picked up an 89 RS w/2.8L a while back. The car will crank all day long but won't start. I've got good fuel pressure, but the injectors don't seem to be firing. I've got power to the coil, but no spark from it. I've replaced the ignition module, the coil, and even tried a different ECM (out of an 1987 w/2.8L). I'm also not getting any error codes. I'd appreciate any help.

Is the check engine light on like its supposed to be when you turn the key to run without starting? No power to the ECM would explain your symptoms (blown fuse would be nice to fix).
Did you check the injectors with a noid light ($5) to verify they arn't getting power?
I can't remeber if that engine has a crank position sensor. If it does and went bad it would prevent spark and injector pulses.
Just guessing if you haven't noticed.

Yes the module has the grease under it, is this real critical? The check engine light comes on like it's suppose to and it doesn't flash like the book says it will if there is an issue with vats system. The injectors firing we checked with the ole stethoscope method, (it worked on my iroc(?) just listen for the clicks. As far as the crank sensor...I'm not sure, I thought the engines with crank sensors didn't have distributors (?). Can you tell me where would it be ? Thanks for the replies, at this point we'll try anything !!!
