Tachometer Sticking
I recently installed a set of reverse glow gauge overlays for my 89 GTA. It required the removal of the gauge needles. I marked the spots the needles were in and reinstalled them properly. When I re-installed the gauge cluster the tachometer will not read above 2000 rpm and sometimes gets stuck on its return to idle. Does anyone know how I can repair this problem? Thanks

Is it reading correct at idle ?
The not reading above 2k/sticking could be from pressing the needle on too tight. I did this when I put my overlays on. If press the needle back on untill it bottoms, it will rub/bind on the overlay.
Or so was the problem in my case.

Use an angled fork to gently pry the needles off..be sure to mark the position they were in before removing them, then install the gauge cluster in the car with the plastic lens off to make adjustments
