Code 36 ?!?!?! What is goin on?
Hi All,
The IROC is showing an error code of 36. According to the table i got off iroczone.com, code 36 does not exist. It has been on my car for a couple of weeks.
I think it MIGHT have something to do with the smog pump "air divert" black box thing above the RHS valve cover (i cut the wires on it and took it off)??
Anyone know what this could be??

i think thats for a MAF burnoff unit...does your car have MAF or MAP system? if its the burnoff relay then just replace the relay.

I cant remember the difference between the two. If i remember correctly, MAP stands for Manifold Absolute Pressure, while MAF stands for Mass Air Flow (correct me if i'm wrong). The TPI cars from '90-'92 had the sensor in the intake itself (MAP), while the older TPI cars like mine ('89) had the sensor between the air filters and the throttle body (MAF). How could i identify the relay if that is the prob (where should it be located etc)?
Cheers

that relay is located at the drivers side firewall, thers like 4 relays in a row there, well if your lookin at it from the front bumper, its the one furthest to the right (closest to the fender). replace that and try again.
