Okay, did a BBC swap. Car started fine, didn't run great (bad fuel pump) but started turn key. Went out the other day put the key in, turned it and I got no "security" light (use the bypass resistor thing mentioned on this site, since I don't have a ECC anymore), the tach is bottomed out (below zero), and for some reason the dash lights are all screwed up. Meaning: the lights that light up the center portion of the dash (specifically the lights that light up the 140ish MPH marker) are on when I turn the key to the on position. If I turn the lights on those go out and the others come on. Anybody with any idea what the crap happened please let me know.
