flashing lights
Ok you wiring genius's, I am having a problem and am Racking my Brain. First let me just say that this is the first time I have gotten so indepth into my car, here is what has happened so far. The original problem with the car was an oil pump that went bad, so I removed the engine replaced all that and replaced the engine back in went to start the car and it would turn but did not start. I then checked to make sure I didnt mess up the timing, compression, spark, and made sure I was getting the right amount of fuel. Well the strange thing is when I turn the ignition on i get the brights console light flashing but the headlamps themselves dont flash and also it looks as though my hazards are on which they are not. I am assuming that I am having a short out somewhere but was curious as to where i really dont want to go thru each and every wire to see where the problem lies but it is seeming like that is what I have to do. I would really like to cut out a lot of the wires if i can. if you need a schematic for the wiring on the car I will post it or the link I can find but ANY help would greatly be appreciated

does your car start at all or just turn over? when you took your engine out, did you do any other interior work or wiring work or anything like that or was it a pretty much "by the book" engine swap?

supid question but are you sure your engine isnt 180* out?
your lights are cosmetic, lets fix your starting problem first.
