Brake and Tail light problem

Hi, new to this place, i heard it was a great source for info, i have an 84 Z28, problem is i got no tail or brake lights, everytime i put a fuse in it blows as soon as i pull the light ****, any help much appreciated, Thanks.

ok, is there a diagram available showing how to rewire my rear lights ? Any tips much appreciated.

Axle/Gears: GM 9 bolt 3:27
Before jumping into rewiring, check your sockets and wiring you for broken of shorted to ground More than likely you will find a bad socket causing the problem. Possibly a bad bulb. That's a lot easier that stringing wire.

Put a test light across the fuse terminals, pull out the **** & the light should light - dead short to ground. With the test light on start eliminating things in the circuit - start at light sockets like bilms01 said above. As long as light is on, short to ground exists.
