Fuse Issue!
I know that this has been posted already, but the answers on those threads haven't helped me.
I have a 84 TA and everytime I turn on my headlights, my tail fuse blows. I know the problem has got to be a grounding wire. I work on electronics at my job but this problem seems to be evading me.
I've already replaced the switch, and the headlight relays.
Removed all the blubs on the circuit.
Removed the stereo. (It is aftermarket so i thought that could be a problem)
Unpluged the relays.
Unpluged the motors.
The back side markers all ohm'd out at 0.
I couldn't get the taillights to ohm out properly.
The front parking lights are both ohm'n around 16 and 13.
The driver side marker is ohm'n at 15.
If anyone has an idea where this could be it would be great to know. I really need to find a really good wiring diagram that shows where the wires lay also. Any help at all would be great.
Thanks.

Bump.... I'm still waiting.. And this site hasn't been a very big help. I'm alittle disappointed with this problem. Thanks again.

FUSE PROBLEM: THIS BLOWS!
You have a short, but you already knew that.
You wrote “The back side markers all ohm'd out at 0.”
If that’s true it’s a short there.
Anyway you can start at the light switch and physically
trace the wires and make sure no insulation is bad.
Alternatively you can divide and conquer.
Cut the light harness in the middle and actuate
the headlight switch. If the fuse blows you know
the problem is on that half of the harness.
Another way to get things started is to manually
activate the headlight relay. If this blows the
fuse you have narrowed down the problem.

Re: Fuse Issue!
So should i replace all my sockets? Cause this didn't start happening until we brought the car home. It didn't move for a couple years because of the last owner. So it only sat there and did nothing.
Nina- Now your saying that it is my back side marker lights, but if something ohm's at 0 then it has no resistance and is working properly. I've been doing electrical for the Marine Corps for 3 years now and that was my training.. Following wires.
Does anyone know where I can get a better wiring diagram from? I'm hoping to find one that shows my where the wires are also. Like where In the car they actually are.
Any Help is great.

Re: Fuse Issue!
I am not suggesting to replace parts arbitrarily. If the wiring checks out the sockets could be a problem, most of the time I have found corrosion inside the socket around the wire terminal mostly aroung the ground which can short to one of the power leads wether the bulb is in or not.
When you said the markers "ohm'd out at 0" it sounds like what you read was continuity instead of an open
Autozone has wiring diagrams not the best but adequate.
http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBr...3d801eef19.jsp you are going to be hard pressed to find a schematic that shows location on the car but most of the harnesses that run to the tail lights run down the drivers side.
