i belive my car has a vats problem ,however i replaced the entire wiring from another camaro w/ mine. there is a plug end that has a green/white ,orange, and a black wires now it runs along w/ my power window switches .if i jump the orange and green/w together the starter kicks over.the problem is there is no place for this plug to plug into ,i've searched all over safety nuetral switch connected to the shifter.i'm lost.

The park/neutral switch is a five (if i remember right) pin connector that connects directly to the shifter. If you grabbed the wiring out of a manual trans car for your automatic there might be some splicing you'll have to do.

Re: safety nuetral wires ?

Never heard of or seen a plug like that. Hmm. Does it look home-made or stock?

The orange wire usually supplies power from the fuse box. And the green wire (should be pretty thick) goes from the starter enable relay and to the starter safety switch. This connector sure isn't the gear selector connector or clutch safety switch, I can say that with confidence. It could be some kind of a remote-start connector.

Got any pictures by any chance?

Re: safety nuetral wires ?

Can you trace the wires and see where especially the green/white goes? I'd expect it to be spliced into the green/white on the shifter switch. This might be an aftermarket harness for a push-button-start feature of some kind (just guessing).
