fans not working but they click?

The fans in my car have stopped working. I've a 1992 Z28 with dual fans. I spliced into the line a long time ago so I could turn the secondary fan on at will. I noticed my fans are not working at all??? I hear a click when I turn the switch on. I also hear a click when I turn the key to the on position. Now, I did expose the wire I tapped into and then touched it to ground and heard a click. WTH??? What do I need to do? I also put a test light on the fan wires and there is no power?? fuses in the fuse box are fine too?

HELP PLEASE

Check fusible link E near the battery- orange 12/14 gage wire. The clicking sound is most likely your fan relays.

Re: fans not working but they click?

I just finished chasing a short. I noticed that the plug off the positive battery cable had a red and orange wire. The orange wire looked kind of worn and as if it got hot. I just bypassed the orange plug and put a 4 inch piece of fusible link instead of using the plug.

You were right on the money with your reply! Fixed and working great
