Headlight problems+stereo problems

I have a 88 camaro 5.7 w/ 37,xxx miles. My problems started as an amp install which was already installed when i got the car. After popping amp fuses at battery, the stereo deck began to turn off when the headlights were turn on. Finally when the stereo no longer turned on, i took it out. When i plugged the stereo wiring harness in to the deck i heard a clicking noise from in the dash. Now i have another problem - after installing xenon H4 headlights they are flashing (headlights) after about an hour of driving at night. I feel this is all related to the hack job amp install that came with the car. What could be causing this?

Re: Headlight problems+stereo problems

Take a look at my post in this thread regarding flashing headlights and some trouble shooting tips. It could be that you headling problem is caused by a loose ground connection some where in the headling circuits.

Re: Headlight problems+stereo problems

your power wire to your amp has been cut or something. in other words, it is shorted out somewhere between that fuse at the battery and your amp, causing the fuse to blow.

Re: Headlight problems+stereo problems

But how does that explain how the stereo shuts off when the headlights are turned on?
