hey, i think this is in the wrong area but i couldnt find anywehre else to post...i have a problem with my cd player i think, when i turn it up halfway, its fine, but when i turn it over half i hit a sound quality problem in that it drops and like i lose midrange sound....i'm not sure if anyone else has ever encountered that with this cd player...i'm not sure if anyone can help either...but if you can in some way that would be greatly appreciated

Did you upgrade your speakers when you replaced the headunit? An aftermarket HU puts 55 watts to each channel and the factory units were built to handle about ten watts. Could be that your speakers just aren't up to the challenge, and you don't really notice it until the volume is cranked.

ive got the 9883 everything is identical except yours has a bigger screen, but i dont have any problems like yours. im with turtle on this one its your speakers up front

i did change out my speakers though, i have kenwoods all around, couldnt quite beef up the front ones, but the backs are 6x9's, with 3 tweeters per speaker...i mean they can crank out some sound but you think its because of the fronts? its a possibility, maybe i should look into a bit beefier ones.......

yeah thats probably the best thing you can do, i thought my front ones were stock because they sounded like crap, but when i switched decks it sounds clearer, and i remember when i got the car he had recipts for 6 x 9's and 4 x 6's pioneers i think.
