Major wiring problem!!! PLEASE HELP!!!
Major wiring problem!!! PLEASE HELP!!!
Ok i have a 1984 Z28 chevrolet camaro.....it has a small block 400 with electric fans...here's the deal......the switch for the eletric fans didnt work when i got it.....and when i was trying to figure out what the deal was with this switch it burnt out and heated up the wires leading to the fans burning the protective covering. And as i was leaving the gas station......my car just died. i opened the hood and found my wires to my electric fans were all bubbled. the guy who did the engine swap neglected to put a fuse or relay in between the fans or fuse box.
i traced the wires back to the fuse box and saw that my fuse box looked melted. now here's my question.....will the fuse box still work and how hard is it gonna be to re-wire it from the fue box back?
if u need any more info just send me a message of reply to this thread. thanx guys!!

Uh-oh, that sounds bad.. Don't count on re-establishing a reliable circuit again from where that power was drawn.. The fuse box is no place to draw power for something like cooling fans, but whatever fuse there was - it was too big for the job.. The proper way is to use a separate fuse and relay by the battery out in the bay. As for restoring the other wiring these wires damaged; good luck.. The fans sounds shot btw., that's why the current got so high..
