Easy Headlight Door Fix Check Your Module

Hello, well just wanted to post what I did to my headlight module. My headlight doors would not open or close right, sometimes one would work then not the other or they both wouldn't work, or they both would work... well you get the picture. I took the module off the firewall, pulled it apart and took out the board inside. Everything looked clean with no burnt parts so I thought I'd check the soldering. Well after close inspection with an eye glass, I noticed that there were cracks around most of the large pins (the long silver pins that plug into the harness wiring sockets) After re-soldering them, I plugged it back into the car and what do you know the headlights both work like new!!! A very easy, cheap repair, not saying that this is the only problem with your headlights not working correctly but this would be the first place to look for for problems. After 20 years or so the soldering will break and cause your headlight doors to stop working correctly. Well good luck.

I agree, I had a similar problem with my driver's side headlight. I took the module and opened and my problem was that one of the 4 wires that are connected to the magnetic switch, was burned off. I simply replaced that wire and it has been working well ever since...
