Re: Performance chip!!!!!!
I'm looking for a chip, or possibly a way to reprogram my 1983 ECU. I am restoring the car and replacing the boat anchor LG4 with a 383..... my engine builder says I need to either find a chip, flash a new memory, or $$$ a new stand alone lap top programable EFI system. This restoration keeps draining my account.....

Re: Performance chip!!!!!!
i have a hypertech thermomaster with the cold thermostat, and cold fan switch, and i didnt see much difference at all.
other than now i chirp my tires going into 2nd real nice, and a little bit going in 3rd, this is in a 700R4, so its pretty impressive in my opinion
but even with all that, there is very very minimal change in actual speed. if i ever get the chance, i will take it to the track, and bring my stock chip with me, and see if it does or not...
oh and my total was 298, with a school discount from napa, so if ur into computers, and think u would be good at makin your own chips, i would do that. heck, i still would but im too busy now to mess with that kinda stuff, i work 3 jobs, and go to college full time...
hope this helps
