no horn or dome light
Since the past 2 years I've swapped out a bunch of items and removed some wiring which went to items that have been removed. Had the car painted and then reassembled and now the horns and dome lights no longer work. No blown fuses or wires cut that I know of. The courtesy lights on the bottom of the dash come on when the door is open, as does the key buzzer, just no dome light and no horn.

Re: no horn or dome light
This thread will have some wire harness location diagrams. One of the circuits is for the dome lights, if you need to trace the wiring. Also the last post has the wiring diagram for the convinence and dome lights.

The obvious questions....is the dome light properly installed and making contact on both terminals???.... is the bulb burned out???
With your voltmeter or 12 V test light, do you have +12 volts on the orange wire at the dome light? If no, then you have a problem with this wire. If yes, what happens when you ground the terminal with the white wire? Does the dome light come on? If yes, you have a problem with the white wire. Keep working back in the circuit until you find the problem. Next stop would be connector C214.
For the horn, you will find a wiring diagram for the horn circuit in this thread. It also has some informaton on the horn switch in the steering wheel and column.

I would first test the horn itself by directly applying 12 volts to it. If it sounds then the horn itself is ok, if not it will need to be replaced. Next, test the horn relay as described in the text with the wiring diagram. The relay may be bad. Then take a look at the switch in the steering wheel. This switch creates the ground that causes the horn realy coil to energize and close the contact that powers the horn.
Hopefully there is enough information in these threads for you to find and fix your problems.

Re: no horn or dome light
thanks dave, i'll check it out tomorrow or thursday and see what is going on, I already replaced the bulb with a good bulb and no dice, so I'm sure there's wiring issues somewhere.
