non pulse wiper motor in a pulsing equiupped car?

I bought a new wiper motor for my car, a pulse one cause its what it had, but it never had a motor and I cant get a cover for it, but at our junkyard theres a bunch of wipermotors/cover, but there non pulse

can I put a nonpulse one in my car and have it work for its 3 speeds they have?

Re: non pulse wiper motor in a pulsing equiupped car?

My 86 Coupe had a Pulse wiper from the factory, meaning that the column has the pulse cam for the stalk mounted control. I can install a pulse or a Non-pulse wiper system to the car and they will both work.

The Non-pulse will only work when set to the HIGH or LOW settings........ nothing will happen if you set it in the "intermittent" range. MIST should work fine as well as the washer pump.

Re: non pulse wiper motor in a pulsing equiupped car?

Good question - I have no good answer !!!

I didn't "guinne pig" and of the motors I tested at the time because only 1 failed. It was late - and I just threw the dead one away !!!

All the motors I plugged in ( pulse and non-pulse ) were connected to a car that had the correct Pulse wiper control in the column.
