Fuse Keeps blowing!

Just about anything I plug into my cigarette lighter (cell phone charger) blows the fuse to the accesories. Anyone else have this problem?

Yes, and its usually a shorted wire connected to your cigarette lighter. I dont remember the steps to fix it but I remember pulling out my cigarette lighter and resolding the wire.

Re: Fuse Keeps blowing!

I had that problem. Turned out the lighter case or whatever was causing it because it was so rusty. If yours is rusty, sand it off or get a new one. Don't buy those newer style lighters because they don't fit. But Im not saying this is your problem...

Re: Fuse Keeps blowing!

Its not only the lighter, its my cell phone charger or just about anything that I plug into it. The weird thing is that the fuse doesn't blow right away, it blows whenever I push the charger plug or whatever to the back of the socket. If I just plug in the charger half way I can get power to the charger but if I plug it all the way in it blows the fuse.

Dont forget your horn and something else is on that same fuse but as I smoke I have found a rusted out lighter housing to be the main case, again try and sand it clean or replace

if its happening shortly after using the horn though check the wires under the cap first as they almost always have problems

Re: Fuse Keeps blowing!

I know this sounds stupid but make sure you have the correct fuse. If its suposed to have a 20 amp fuse and you have a 15 amp fuse in its place then putting something else on that ciruit will blow the fuse.
