Gages fuse keeps blowing, need alittle help...

As the title states, my gages fuse keeps blowing. Here's the run down of what happened before the popping fuses. I just swapped a T56 into the car and when i was all set and done, I started the car and none of my gauges work at all. Not even the annoying chime when the key is in the ignition. Vehicle was equipped with an aftermarket alarm system (which was hacked in btw) which i just removed today. Vehicle still starts, radio works, headlamps work, brake lamps work, just the gauges don't work at all, keep constantly blowing fuses. Any ideas on possible solution to this problem? Thanks in advance!

did you by chance mess with the radio?. My last car didnt have a radio installed when I bought it. I installed it by trying to fix the hack job. I installed the ground wire and it was grounded to the chassis also.It did the same thing, as soon as I ripped out the radio it was fine. Just an idea.

Yes i did install a radio, a week before the T56. When i got the car, it had no radio aswell, plus the factory radio pigtails were cut from the vehicle. I had to go to the junkyard to get them and solder them in. I double check the in the morning, i may have left a wire hangin. Also, i did pull the radio fuse to see if it would prevent the gages from blowing and it didnt. I'll keep you posted.

this exact thing happened to me, and it kind of had to do with the t56. i had the dakota digital box wired into my fuse box right next to the gauge fuse (acc or ign i think) and it would blo the gauge fuse almost instantaneously. well through dumb luck i figured out that the positive and ground wires were touching at the box and blowing this fuse, not sure why this one instead of another one.

so check any connections you touched since installing the t56 and if you have installed the DD box, unplug it and try that. other than that i have nothing to add, i am not very good at wiring

I'll recheck all the wiring under the dash near the master cylinder, i must of hit something. I did break my brake switch, but that doesn't have anything to do with that fuse. I printed the fuse block diagram off alldata from work, so hopefully i can find out what keeps blowing that fuse. I don't have the DD box yet, was kinda broke from buying the T56 and hardware. I can't stand wiring myself. This car was pretty hacked up when it comes to wiring. Slowly fixing it.
