Unused white wire in rear by trunk pulldown

Unused white wire in rear by trunk pulldown
I noticed an unused white wire just hanging with the others by the trunk pulldown motor unused - is it supposed to be plugged into anything? It has a black plastic cap on it.

When all other wires are connected and everything works this wire just dangles and is unused - I'm curious what it is for since I am having a blinker issue. The electronic hatch works without this wire plugged in. Thanks.

on some newer models its for the interior hatch light, if you have a light thats controlled by a switch, or no light at all, having it unplugged wont effect anything.
