MSD is junk... my distributor pinion which is locked to the shaft by a crappy threaded hex screw sheered loose while passing a greyhound bus approaching a bridge and oncoming traffic... while passing the bus, I lost power and my car died but still had enough momentum to pass the bus and swerve off the road... could of killed me and everyone on the bus I passed.

MSD and Mallory is the same thing pretty much.

Yeah, mine did that in there too. Just the rust, not the shearing. Ive had it for quite a long time and its never failed tho. I think there is an o-ring you can add if you screw it down instead of using the l-clamps
