brake light problem

brake light problem

ok so i have a problem with my brake light. it works when the tails are off but the passenger one is really dim, then u turn on the lights and hit the passenger light goes out and only the driver one stays lite. if anyone could help me out it would be really great

btw its a 1995 with the 3.4l

That sure sounds like a bad ground on the tail lights.
It could be just a bad gound contact on the lightbulb or maybe a bad connection in the black ground wire splices behind the tail lights.
If you test each black wire on each socket, it should always read 0V, no matter what lights are on.
