blower motor fuse keeps poping

this has been going on for a while now and it is really starting to annoy me. It will occasionally be fine and not pop for a while no matter how many times i turn the speed up or down/ on or off. But then other times (just like tonight when it is 30 f*%&^%g degrees outside)when i just refuses to be turned on at all. I am pretty sure my alternator is going out but it has been doing this even before the alternator issue. So aside from the alternator, what other possibilities could there be?

Re: blower motor fuse keeps poping

Sounds like the blower motor is drawing too many amps and blowing the fuse. I would replace the blower motor.

oh yea i have tried that one too but it still did it then also. the only other thing i can think of could be wrong would be something with the vent control panel. so aggrevating

Re: blower motor fuse keeps poping

I think the only two remaining components are the resistor and the switch. Does the fan have all of it's speeds working correctly? Does the switch feel weird when switching to different speeds?

I would check the plug-ins at the resistor and switch. See if they are burnt or discolored.

yea it has all of its speeds (well other than the obvious, when the fuse blows). what do you mean by feel weird? like hard to turn?

yes, hard to turn or turn better in one spot compared to another. This would lead me to the switch and not the resistor.
