Complete wiring gut
Complete wiring gut
Gentleman. I am about to pull my freaking hair out with all this wiring stuff, so instead (my girl would kill) i am going to ask you for help. I would like to do away with all things electric, except for the power windows, radio, and ac. I still want the tpi computer controls to work, so if anyone can help me out with this it is much appreciated.

Re: Complete wiring gut
thats all you want left? you dont want your lights or anything? or gauges? the question is what are you willing to pull out? because when people rid them selves of wires or "unnecessary" things they typically pull the ac, smog, interior luxury or they ditch fuel injection for carb.
Re: Complete wiring gut
well i still need the lights and fuel injection for now. it is my daily driver. as far as gauges, i have been driving with out them for 3 months, and i plan to put in mechanical anyway. i wont ditch the power windows simply because of everything i went thru to replace those freaking things...lol but i dont need vats, power mirrors, power hatch open, and just that stupid stuff. i will end up doing a carb switch soon, after i get my 68 electra running smoothly, and that becomes my daily driver.

What problems are you having that your going to go out of your way to remove power locks, and all that?
Also, i've done this before. It's not exactly fun. I had a camaro i turned to naturally asperated Carb with, and it requires quite a bit of know-how to do this correctly. And even still, your going to screw up, and you'll need to know what your doing so you can fix it. I wouldn't even try unless your pretty handy with a meter.
If you are swapping, there are a lot of variables in terms of sensors to get this done right. Mechanical based or electrical based. etc... But generally you can pull the computer at that point.
