My avatar is my hazards in sequence. There is a way to get it to flash all 3 per side, 1 simple wire connection, but it is for turn & hazards, not just one or the other.

Round 4 MIGHT happen, if there is enought interest.

Would ya'll like to pre-pay/buy the whole batch of 20, the I let YOU retail them?

It may be the end of Summer before more can be made.

If/when it happens, I'll start a new thread & see if there is still enough interest to proceed.

Re: Universal Seqqential Turn Signals - Round 3

The first batches were selling for $50 shipped, but after the last batch, we're gonna find a different circuit board supplier. They raised their price to do the last batch, among other problems with them, but our price didn't change.

So, it MAY change, depending on we can get the boards made for.

Re: Universal Sequential Turn Signals - Round 3

Add me to the list for round 4, or any no shows of round 3.

I have had the car since new and have no intentions of ever getting rid of her, so when your ready I am too. Guess that means I have already been waiting 18 years for this mod

Thanks for sharing a very cool idea!

Re: Universal Seqqential Turn Signals - Round 3

Round 3 has come& buy...Everything sold, so...no "no shows" at the end.

As typical, I got PMs in all 3 rounds of "I'll send the $ out tomorrow." But like a business would...I'm not holding a unit based on promises. First pay=first shipped.

Re: Universal Seqqential Turn Signals - Round 3

No. Zero to sell right ow, not even the parts. The printed circuit boards are custom designed & built in batches of 20. So, 60 have been sent out.

If there appears to be enough interest, I may go for 40 in Round 4.

I've got your name down on the list.

If we do this, I'll PM the names on the list before I post a Rnd. 4 thread. Give the ones that showed early interest the chance to get them before offering them to the rest of the public.

With that being said to everyone else...Feel free to PM me with interest& you'll get first shot at them. The list is only for names. First paid, first shipped.

I wish....In fact, I've only seen like 2 of them installed, both Pontiacs, of the 60 that have been sold. In the beginning, there was a bit of difficulty in determining in how to make them work on a Camaro, as the harness wiring is different. But that has figured out & included in the instructions.

Hey Lou,

Just to be clear on the under dash mod...I cut the blue wire to the brake switch and then when I attach it to the white wire do I just add it in, or does the white wire get cut and the blue wire go to one end or the other?

Thanks!

Yup, just add the light blue wire to the white one. You don't really need to, though. You can cut the white one and use only the half from the steering column. It's up to you.

Hope this helps.

Ok, so if you cut the white wire it is just originally just terminating on that block?

Re: Universal Seqqential Turn Signals - Round 3

Ok, I'm pretty much good to go, did the under dash conversion and just need to tidy the backend up permanetly.

One big question though, my flasher is so quick the outside light never lights with the turn signal.

How can I slow this down? Just with another flasher? What's a good donor vehicle? I don't think these things are rated in anyway (just heavy duty ones for towing).

Re: Universal Seqqential Turn Signals - Round 3

The accuracy of our flashers is astounding: once per second +/- 4.5 years.
You'll need to find a flasher that's slow enough for the STS. We had the same problem, had to go through about 3 flashers until we found one that isn't too fast.
Another option is to buy/make an adjustable flasher.

Hope this helps.

If you have some plans for an adjustable flasher I'd love to see them

stephen how much is it for 20kits not sell price but just the hardware price. I could possibly put the money up.

Also can you make ones with a slower flash rate? found where to get new flashers? or would little resistors work on each bulb wire?

What do you mean by "kit"? These are sold assembled, not as you assemble pieces. And you hafta buy 2 sockets yourself, if you need the extra sockets.

Now, I have gone & gotten sockets for an overseas customer, as he can't exactly just walk in Pep Boys & get them.

I could get sockets for USA customers, but honestly? It's cheaper for YOU to get them than me. No extra shipping weight, etc.

As for the flash rate....These do nothing to control the flash rate. Your stock flasher controls the rate at which they flash. I've seen an adjustable flasher on eBay, but it was $25. A STS customer bought one & yes...It worked great. Just wasn't worth $25 (to me) to buy one. Not only that, but I (personally) have a problem with 1 cent auctions with $25 shipping, which was how that one was listed.

Lol, it is steep but that is the perfect fit with your unit.

What did you get your flasher from?

Is the speed in the avatar correct or slowed down?

It's the flasher that was inn the car when I bought the car 3 years ago. That would basically double the STS cost.

The avatar speed is looks accurate. I had a friend make it, & as far as I know, he didn't modify it.

Sure that particular unit would double the cost, but there must be a low cost one around somewhere.

Dig people dig!

Re: Universal Seqqential Turn Signals - Round 3

I "think" I saw one some time ago that was a kit and cost around $15. But I can't find it again.

Flashers are one of the easiest circuits out there. Any idiot can build one with the 555. If I had the time, I'd make one. Does anybody have a few spare days to sell? I'll pay well!
