Fuel Tank Connector

So in the process of changing the fuel pump on my 91, I broke the locking latch on the connector coming from the fuel tank sending unit. To clarify, this is the three-prong weatherpack connector on the bottom of the car, by the center of the rear axle. GM does not seem to sell the connector seperately...only as part of a complete sending unit. Has anyone managed to find the connector only somewhere?

Re: Fuel Tank Connector

junkyard car is the only place I know of... that connector is something that should work 95% of the time from a car even if its been sitting for years...

Re: Fuel Tank Connector

Check with TPI parts, one of the sponsors. He may have it. The other sponsor EFI specialties carries weatherpack connectors. Chances are it is still available from either of these two.

Re: Fuel Tank Connector

You can search for GM weather pack connectors in Google, it finds a lot of links.

Hope this helps.

Re: Fuel Tank Connector

Now I need one, GM does not have it in their parts book. Has anyone found this part yet? There are specific slots for this connector, I bought one that was close and used a hacksaw to replicate the slots. It slides in the connector however the locking tab is not long enough to lock, the original is about half an inch long and the ones I can find are about a quarter inch long.

Re: Fuel Tank Connector

I found one at the junkyard. I will post a pic later of the connector.

These places do not have it, GM parts, Hawks, Eficonnection, Year one, TPI Parts, and I was unable to find a web site for EFI specialties.
