alternator problems
so acouple months ago my alternator was crapping out so i got a summit alternator and boom, problem solved it worked perfectly until last night when after getting my transmission rebuilt it crapped out on me. car turned off on me last night and i had to push it home. so now im wondering is it possible my car can kill alternators? i mean im not running subs or a huge stereo, tension on the belt is good not too loose or too tight, or could it be that i just got a dud from summit? either way its covered by warranty but i just wanted to know whats the likelihood that my car can break the new alternator

Re: alternator problems
check your connections to your battery, its possible they are corroded, if not then I would say you have a bad fusible link somewhere in your system. If thats not the case, a faulty fuse could cause something in your engine to keep running. If none of this works try a new alternator, if it does it again then you know for sure if you have a problem (if its under warrenty you could just try that anyway =) but alternators arent usually duds...)
