ALDL Cable/datalogging
Ok sorry if this is the wrong forum but it does have to do with electronics. I want to get datalogging software for my laptop and an aldl cable, the problem is I want to run the program as I'm driving to get specs on all aspects of my car at different RPM and MPH stuff like that. I heard somewhere that you shouldn't run the programs while driving the car... is this true? or does anyone know a way I can use a program while driving? thank you, sorry if this is the wrong forum.

Re: ALDL Cable/datalogging
The problem is in attention being given to the laptop while driving instead of to the traffic, causing potentially hazardous situations.
The solution is either to have an assistant operate the laptop while you drive (or vice versa), or yourself only starting datalogging before driving off, leaving it alone while driving and stopping the logging only after the trip. Then you review the data afterwards.
