ok, so i tore the old wiring harness out of my iroc because it had missing/damaged connectors when i bought it, and went to the J-yard to pick up replacement connectors and everything, anyways i got the harness all repaired and lookin good, but then found two wires on the harness (one tan and the other purple *or pink*) and cannot figure out what they are for. ive studied the wire diagram for about two hours total trying to figure it out and just dont see it. the car is a 87 iroc with the 5.0 TPI. the two wires are coming out at about the same place as the IAC connector, and look like they were cut right next to eachother (they are the same length) any help would be greatly appreciated. I had a local member (Birdtojag) look at it and he cant find it either.

are the two wires in question on your old harness or is this a completely different harness?

 

i have the carb 87 and remember a pair of tan and a second wires not used on my car. compared my car to a 87 tpi and IIRC on that guys car those go to the stock air cleaner assembly for some kind of sensor in the air cleaner body.

 

i havnt switched the harness, im only working with one. i took it out of the car so i could better repair it with new connectors and whatnot, rather than having to squeeze into the engine bay and do it like that. im getting ready to put the harness back in and will probably figure out where the wires go when i do that, who knows, maybe they are just grounds.

 

is there a place to plug them into the air cleaner?
