I found this plug while taking apart my console. It doesn't seem to belong here. any ideas as to where it goes. its not for the windows or electric mirrors.

Re: console plug
that looks like the wiring to the neutral safety switch for a car with an auto trans. AFAIK that harness was installed in all cars regardless of man or auto trans

Re: console plug
Yes, this is the connector for the automatic tranny shifter.
Left to right:
- dark green/white and purple - starter safety switch
- green and blue - reverse light switch
- orange and black/white - drive/reverse switch
Did your car come with the 350 or the T5? If it came with the T5, you should be ok.

Re: console plug
It came with the 305 tpi and t5 but it now has a 4 bolt 350 carb. out of a 78 pickup. I kept the t5 in but I think I've got to much power for it. thanks so much for all your help.
