Wiring my new fuel pump using the fuel guage plug??
i have an 85 Z28 that either never had an electric pump, or someone removed it... either way, i'm going with a holley electric and want to utilize the extra plug spot on the (i'm assuming) fuel guage connector... it is the connecter that is dead center in front of the fuel tank... there are 3 wires leading to this plug on the inside of the car, but only 2 wires coming out of the plug with one blank spot... is that 3rd wire in the car for an electric pump? and if so what type of spade connector do i need to put in that plug to utilize it??? hope this makes sense... thanks in advance

I don't know the exact name of the connector, but I looked on ebay and bought a 150 piece weather tight connector kit. Summit racing also sells these kits.
With this kit i was able to make a pig tail to connect a factory in the tank fuel pump connector to a non pump connector only having two wires for the sending unit. It looks factory except for the hot wire I added to drive the pump.
I have always called them pin and barrel connectors.
Hope that helps.

Then a weather tight connector is what you need for the factory end. I do not know what holley has installed on their pumps.
