how do i check my tach
i installed a used digital dash.
the tach seems to be pretty close but i want to make sure.
once i locate the wire what do i need to check the signal and lets say i get a certain voltage how can i translate that into rpms?

Can't do anything "by ear" here, sorry. You need instruments (oscilloscope or function generator) to check tachometer accuracy.
