c130 alternator help
are there any quality alternators out there that put out amperage at idle?
i have a cheap parts store replacement, and even a smaller pulley doesnt help it at idle.
i went to a website where it showed the output, and a cs130 case only puts out 45 amps at idle. i run 3 fans, waterpump, and fuel pump. at night with headlights and foglights, its down around 10 volts on the gauge.
just like a lil more down low. i dont want to spin a 140-160amp alternator.

Re: c130 alternator help
I have a rebuilt stocker which outputs 140 amps with no problems, even has a slightly smaller pulley to output at idle.
You might spend a bit on one, Excessive Amperage makes alternators that output 200 amps or more, I've heard many good things about them. Don't know offhand how much it takes to spin it though.

Re: c130 alternator help
Have you looked at a CS-144 from a 1995 lumina van or the like?

my alt is a 100 or a 105, but only puts out 40 at idle.
ive seen some online that are "beefed up" to spin more power at idle.
thats the only place i really need the power. i dont have any issues otherwise.

nio sir, but i will.
thanks!
