Back latch motor not working
Back latch motor not working
After replacing the automatic latch motor in my trunk, it still isn't working. I checked the fuses and couldn't find any blown.
Which fuse would it be, or could it be a fusible wire link?

Check to see if there is power going to the hatch motor. Even if a fuse isn't blown, there could be a cut in the wire somewhere else.

That is exactly what happened to me. I traced it down today, had to take off the diver side trim all the way to the back seats to find it.
Get a multimeter, and trace the wires starting at the motor and work back.
If you want to test the motor itself, you can try using a power source to see if the motor actually works by unplugging the plug (has 4 wires, note which are power and which are ground) and you can tap the prongs to see if it lives on the female side.
I'd start first with seeing if there is power to the motor itself before checking if the motor works.
I'm baffled as to how mine stopped working. I'm thinking the car alarm splicing came undone somewhere, so I've hijacked the power to the trunk light to the motor. Works fine now.
