Horn/Interior Fuse

I have an 89 firebird, 305 tbi/5speed. I keep blowing the fuse for the interior lights/power mirrors/power locks and I believe horn. Searched the forums pretty good and looked the car over for awhile before posting.

Here's what changed: I was doing the clutch so the center console was taken out and reinstalled. Immediately after this, I installed a Grant Challenger steering wheel. While installing, my horn started smoking under the hood so I pulled the wire off of it and put electrical tape over the connector to make sure it didn't ground itself out. Every time I put a fuse (25A) in, the locks and lights all work, then the next time I open the door, no dome light. I've been looking over everything, and am thinking the grant wheel is to blame or a pinched wire under the console. The horn button install was a PITA and I kinda sped through it, is there a hot wire in the horn button I might have grounding out all the time?

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Horn/Interior Fuse

I want to say I have it fixed. Took the horn button assembly apart, looks like the contact plate was installed upside down. A note to everyone, the grant challenger instructions seem to have the three contact points illustrated wrong. Either that or I'm stupid. Still no horn but i think I may have smoked it good when I was too lazy to pull the fuse during installation.
