Ignition change

What all is involved with changing the ignition chamber that is in the steering column. I have an 89 Trans Am with the VATS system in it and I was going to change the chamber that the key goes into to start the car. Any information will be helpful. Thanks!

Re: Ignition change

Has anyone on here changed the ignition cylinder before? I am having trouble tracing the wire connection down the column. I don't know where it connects. Any more help on this topic will be GREATLY appreciated.
