Electric hatch release don't work

I just put in a new latch assembly with a pull down motor. I got the pull down motor to pull the hatch down but it was set too low so I popped the hatch open with the key and moved the latch up but now the motor pulled the latch to far down so I can't lock the hatch. I figured that the hatch release switch up front would push the motor back up but won't. How do I get the motor to come back up so I can secure the hatch?

And yes all the grounds, connections, and fuses are good.

Since you installed new parts, my suggestion would be the following. Download the Hatch assembly instructionc from TDS and go over your installation from the beginning. Anything else is just going to be half a--ed.
