hi there, when i was doing a u pull it on an ECM, we saw this yellow module thing about 3" x 3" and it looks like it says 6 out buffer.. what is it and what does it do?

Was it n the prom connector? Where was it? More info....

 

i have the same "buffer" and question. it is a separate module that installs with the ecm. it is yellow in color and basically just says as he said ^ just 6 out "buffer"

yes its near the ecm in the convenience center.

There is a 4 out buffer that was in my 89 firebird when it had a 305, but the motor swapped out to a 350 and we saw that another 89 gta 350 engine, had a 6 out buffer.
I also need to know if the 6 out buffer goes with the 350 engine too?
