battery disconnect solenoid

Ok, I have a god awful drain somewhere in my wiring. I do not have much time right now to troubleshoot and trace it, so for a temp fix, I orderd the summit remote starter solenoid and I am hooking that upto a toggle switch. My question is, I know painless offers a remote battery disconnect switch. Is the remote starter solenoid the same type of solenoid? It looks pretty much the same with exception of placement of 2 post leads and both have the same amp rating. Instead of being on top, they are on the sides. Here are the product number for the 2.

painless: PRF-30204

summit: SUM-G1750

Thanks for the help.

Re: battery disconnect solenoid

They'll perform the same basic electrical operation for you, exept that the Summit one has an extra aux output that you leave unconnected and its coil is grounded so you'll have to switch it towards positive.
I wouldn't be sure that it'll stand continous use though. You'll have to check it continously for the first 20 minutes of operation to see that it doesn't get too hot.
Imho, by the time you have finished installed this thing, you'd have been able to locate the drain also. It's really not that hard or time consuming.
